The EPA has withdrawn the proposed rule to revise the turbidity limit submitted to the OMB, in order to collect additional data from construction and development sites. Once review of a proposed rule revising the numeric turbidity limit is completed by OMB, the EPA will publish the proposed rule for public comment.

On July 8th, the EPA announced that it would extend the current 2008 permit to February 15, 2012 (Federal Register Vol. 76, No.131 http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2011-07-08/pdf/2011-17186.pdf)in order to finalize modifications to the new 2012 permit.
